Creative Intentions Spread
Recently, I can to the realization that I haven’t felt connected to the creative and artistic side of myself in some time, though I can’t pinpoint when it happened or how long it’s been. I realized it the way you suddenly remember there’s a sweater you own that you haven’t seen or worn in years, and when you go to your closet to put it on it’s nowhere to be found. You even check the bottom of the pajama drawer, just in case. Yes, I’m comparing creativity to clothes, but I imagine (hope) this is a universal experience. After realizing it was lost, I started doing the work to find my creativity: journaling again, seeking out inspiration, going through old notebooks and projects looking to be inspired and reminded of those feelings. In those concepts that had been tucked away for years; on that shelf of “maybe Homebound can do that someday” only to be forgotten was a monthly club, among many other inspiring projects. Once the idea ignited there was no stopping me. I wasn’t letting this one end up back on that one day shelf again. So here we are! The Tarot Dispatch was born. Truthfully, I believe it’s still being born and I find that inspiring.
This spread is a dedication to the cycle of creativity; losing it, finding it, sitting in it, exploring it. Even if you don’t consider yourself a creative person, it’s there in you. Even in the smallest parts of a day. Creating a playlist, getting dressed in the morning, seeing something beautiful on a walk, being funny! In my search for finding it again, I’ve remembered creativity is as simple as recognizing joy, or beauty. As you work through this month’s spread, I encourage you to be open to all kinds of unique forms of creativity, and reflect deeply with the cards before consulting the provided meanings. This is a moment for you and for yourself. Don’t rush it.
