The Harvest Spread
For the transition between seasons.
I love having specific spreads to do at the same time every year. It creates clear markers for growth and reflection when you can look back on years prior with bench marks. I often find synchronicities in those readings over time. More than once, I’ve had the last card from a previous year’s reading show back up as the first card in the next year’s. Some very full circle moments. I encourage you to start your own collection of spreads to use at certain times of the year (or even the month) if you don’t already. They’re an invaluable tool in my tarot practice.
I picture the seven of pentacles for this time of year, though I think what I am really seeing is the time that comes before it and the bouquet of pentacles is the reward dangling ahead. This time of year is the time spent planting the seeds of what we want to come.
With Autumn comes a renewed eagerness to cultivate, to get a little dirty, and begin fresh routines. It’s really not to dissimilar to the routine of a new school year, is it? Here we are, bright eyed, ready to improve ourselves and likely just a little naive to the challenges ahead. It’s so interesting how these cycles from childhood can become so ingrained in our associations of the seasons and they never really leave us even when we’re grown. I’m not saying you’ve bought a new notebook lately, but... did you?
I hope this month’s spread provides you with some parameters to sort through your goals and plans for the remainder of the year, and gives you clarity on what to prioritize and plant for your own personal harvest
1. What to take with me from last season
2. What to plant/start at the beginning of this season
3. How to prepare for a successful harvest
